A mysterious cloud advances as a girl and her dog enjoy the onset of fall along Lake Erie. The girl, both curious and apprehensive, calls for her mother, and the three give chase into the woods. Muted pastels in autumnal colors enhance the story's tension--until the dog's bark triggers a golden explosion of Monarch butterflies. Useful appended information enhances the lyrical tale.
